Plato asked you to imagine prisoners chained in a cave, watching shadows on a wall and mistaking them for the world. The philosopher's job, he said, was to get out — to turn around, walk into the sunlight, and come back to tell everyone what's really out there.
He did not anticipate that we'd get comfortable.
That we'd furnish the place. Run a cable down. Improve the shadows until they were brighter and faster and more absorbing than anything waiting outside. The exit is still there. It's just that nobody's using it, because the signal in here is excellent.
The graphic shows the figure stepping out anyway — neon glare behind, valley ahead. Whether that's escape or just a better view is the part you get to decide.
